Products Description
The lubricating oil used in ammonia refrigeration compressors must be specifically designed to handle the unique challenges posed by ammonia’s chemical properties. Unlike conventional refrigerants, ammonia is highly reactive with standard mineral oils, leading to sludge formation and reduced efficiency. PAL RFC 68 AM is designed to withstand such complex and critical operating conditions in screw and reciprocating compressor systems. Along with exceptional low temperature characteristics, it ensures optimal lubrication in high-pressure, high-temperature compressor environments while preventing carbon buildup and valve sticking.
Product Features
- Low Solubility with Ammonia – Minimizes oil carryover into the refrigeration system, ensuring efficient heat transfer and preventing blockages in evaporators and condensers.
- High Thermal & Oxidation Stability – Withstands extreme temperatures in compressor systems, reducing thermal degradation and extending oil life.
- Excellent Lubricity & Anti-Wear Protection – Contains advanced additives to reduce friction and protect compressor components (bearings, pistons, valves) from wear.
- Good Demulsibility – Quickly separates from water to prevent emulsion formation, reducing corrosion and maintaining system efficiency.
- Low Pour Point – Ensures smooth flow and lubrication even in low-temperature refrigeration applications.
- Non-Foaming – Anti-foam additives prevent air entrapment, ensuring consistent lubrication and compressor performance.
- Material Compatibility – Safe for use with elastomers, metals, and compressor seals commonly found in ammonia systems.
Applications
PAL RFC 68 AM is formulated to lubricate ammonia-based screw and reciprocating compressor refrigeration systems, which are used in large commercial operations such as cold stores, food processing plants, marine systems and ice arenas.
PAL RFC 68 AM is also used in manufacturing industries that require low temperature control, such as pharmaceuticals and microelectronics. PAL RFC 68 AM can be used in ammonia refrigeration systems where evaporator temperatures are greater than -39°C (-38°F).
Packing
