VISCOSITY MODIFIER
It is a linear olefin copolymer viscosity modifier designed to give the balance of thickening efficiency & shear stability responsive to pour point depressants. The product is having low molecular weight.
APPLICATIONS
An additive which improves the viscosity – temperature characteristics of oils i.e. it improves the viscosity index of oil.
TREAT RATES
It offers high thickening efficiency. Actual treat rates shall vary depending on the base oil quality & additive package characteristics. If the additive package contains a component which also contributes to thickening, lower treat level may be possible.
PRECAUTIONS
Viscosity Modifier (VM) additives are sensitive to contamination. The most common problem results from their direct contact with other additives being used in engine / gear oils. Small amount of contamination can produce gel like materials which creates difficulties during solubilization in the oil.
During transfer of additives in containers, ensure that no residue from previous additives is present in them.
Maximum recommended storage temperature is 80°C.
